GPIS Students Participated in organizing a Spectacular Charity Dinner at the JW Marriott March 10th, 2006.

Green Land Pre Vert International School’s faculty, students and parents all participated in the organization of an exquisite fundraising Charity Dinner at the JW Marriott Hotel on Friday 10th March 2006 to solve the waste problem of Al Qawmeya Road. The raised funds were used to clean, pave and plant Al Qawmeya Road. The student committee representatives assisted in raising funds through selling tickets and some of the younger students produced artwork that was sold for charity as well.

The project was commenced on February 26th 2006 and 60% of the work has been covered by the raised funds yet we are still receiving funds to complete the remainder of the project.

Evaluation Visit by the IBO in March 2006.

GPIS welcomed 2 of the IBO staff members, Mrs. Fiona Kalinowski and Mrs. Jane Taylor, who were in Cairo in the period from 11/3/2006 to 14/3/2006 to perform an evaluation visit of the school.

PYP Workshop at Ramses Hilton March 16th to March 18th 2006 

For the first time in Egypt Cairo hosts the IBO’s PYP workshops held at the Ramses Hilton Hotel during the period 16/3/2006-18/3/2006. 12 teachers and administrators from GPIS participated in these workshops which were attended by approximately 270 teachers and administrators from schools from all around the world.

35 teachers and administrators visit GPIS to experience the implementation of the IB programs PYP, MYP and DP

GPIS students warmly welcomed 35 teachers and administrators on March 19th 2006. the students were dressed in various costumes representing the various cultures and histories existing in Egypt, for example some were dressed in Pharoanic and others Nubian etc. After being greeted, the visitors were taken on tours by our students to see the various classes and were then escorted into the garden to watch a folkloric horse dance. This visit was followed by an excursion to the Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza.
